Release!

Well guys and gals, it’s finally official! Awakenings (the first book in the Fall of . . . and so forth), is completed, edited, formatted and, most importantly, published! That’s right! It’s finally out in the world!

By clicking here, or the image below, you’ll arrive at my Amazon author page, which lets you buy it in both paperback and as an e-book. (As well as featuring a bio and some images of the very handsome author.) Of course, I urge you all to buy at least three copies each, but more importantly: rate it, review it and recommend it to others! I’m only as good as your opinion here, people, which means I’m at your mercy. I’m not gonna beg any more than that, but believe you me, I’m going to spam this sucker now that it’s finally out in the world!

Thanks once again for following me this far. Now I’ll just have to keep working on the next one, and the next one after that. (I’m about 1/6 into Frostbites, and halfway through Fall, but you’ll hear more on that later. Let’s concentrate on Awakenings for now.)

Whoop, there it is!

Done!

Ready to publish (soon!)

So, basically this means that I’m done reading and revising and editing and revising and reading and editing and revising and you get the picture. Now I’m just waiting for my lovely wife/editor/manager/partner/superhero to skim through it one last time, and I can get this baby published.

Updates will be posted here as it’s (self)published, of course, probably within a month, give or take. (Oh, and if you know me personally, I will harass the everloving crap out of you when the book drops. I’ve heard it’s the Christmas present of 2015! Give it to everyone you know!)

Thanks for all the support!
Sincerely, Bishop

Progress update

Hello all!

Seeing as the ‘great launch’ is fast approaching (unless I’m shot or hit by a car or something), I’ve decided to make a little progress bar for you to look at! I’m sure you all have better things to do than gaze at this page, waiting for the book to drop (although, I don’t see what could possibly be more important), but I’m posting it anyway:

Final revision

Final revision - 77,7% done!

.

When that little thingy is full, the final revision of my book will be done! I probably won’t update it after every chapter, but I’ll try to keep that number rising at a steady pace. I’ll admit to having quite a few butterflies right now – this is my first publishing after all. If all goes according to plan, it should be available for purchase come august.

As a reminder: Until that number reaches 100% my book is available for free. One revision poorer, but finished nonetheless. Take a gander below if you don’t want to wait / don’t want to waste your money on me. (Or if you want to give me feedback that’ll make it into the final product.)

The Fall of Noman – Awakenings

Please and thank you,

A new novella

RISE - By Robert Bishop

So . . . I decided to try my hands on some science fiction. True to the genre, it quickly grew too big to contain and escaped its confines.

Although the two genres share many similarities, sci-fi is not quite the same as fantasy, and I’m well aware of – and partially in agreement with – the notion that one should stick to what one knows best. Jumping from fantasy to science fiction (albeit only for two novellas), isn’t quite the same as a basketball player wanting to play football, and expecting to be taken in by the national team; but it’s in the ballpark. (See what I did there?)

In any case, I’m the basketball player trying to play football in this metaphor, and I sincerely hope that even though I didn’t stick to ‘my genre’ this time, you’ll read (and hopefully enjoy) the first of my two sci-fi novellas. And let’s be honest: I’m not writing in the big leagues here, so it’s not like I’m trying to have my cake and eat it, too. (Though I do tend to eat the cakes that I have. It seems preferable to throwing them away.)

In any case, the story follows a young girl and her brother as they’re trying to get some information to K’hadmera – The world that floats. Someone wants to stop them before they get there, however, and are willing to spend an ungodly amount of money to stop them. Alexandra, the young girl, doesn’t quite know what that information is, but her brother seems convinced that it could very well save the entire known universe.

Or end it.

Second revision done!

Well, that’s it! The second revision – or rewrite, rather – of the brick ‘Awakenigs’ has become is done! As of right now, it clocks in on 408 A4 pages, containing 237 825 words. Too much? That’s for you to decide, I can’t be bothered to read that thing… (Yes, I’m kidding.)

(Without blurb)

I’m still a few revisions and a professional edit away from being done, but for all intents and purposes, that’s the finished product up there. If I retain my health and sanity, Awakenings will be released this side of 2014.  For the time being, you can get it for free, though. (AND with the added bonus of tearing the author a new one if you don’t like it.) I won’t spam this revision very much, because honestly I’d prefer it if you all buy the finished product instead.

Still, feedback is key to writing something that works, so I’ll listen carefully to every piece of it I get. Your notes, if pertinent, will make it into the final product, and you will get credited. Even as slim as the chances are (I’m a realist), if I do make it big, you’ll regret not getting your name in there!

Good reading! – Bishop.
