Trailer for Awakenings and updates!

The trailer for Awakenings is finally out! It took a while, but I finally got a look and feel I’m satisfied with. I hope you all enjoy the end-result, and that it might win over a few who are on the fence regarding The Fall of Noman, or just fantasy in general.

In other ‘not working on Frostbites, the next book in the series’, news: I’ve been collaborating with a friend of mine, Magnus Blystad, on a project called ‘Of Monsters’. You can read more about it, as well as an excerpt here! I will probably post more on this later as more is released, but I highly recommend a peak. The world Magnus has created is really a weird, unique and brilliant version of our own.

In other, other news; I’m also working on a short-story/novella called Empress, which I aim to complete over the summer. This one takes a closer look at the inner workings of the H’arians, and one of their main trade empires as they attempt to strike a deal with one of the more secluded clans. I’m also writing a found-diary kind of thing, called Survivor 1, which I suppose is more of a creepy pasta than anything else. We’ll see how it goes. Finally, Fall – the follow up to the sci-fi novella Rise – is still on schedule to be completed this year . . . for some reason. We’ll see.

That’s all for now! Thank you for your patience and your patronage. If you’re reading this and don’t know who I am, for some reason, be sure to check out my book, or my other stories!

– In due time, Bishop

They don’t care about you

This one is kinda bleak, but it’s also true. I’ll admit that the title is a little over the top, but hear me out: People mostly talk to throw their own voice into the mix. Maybe they just love the sound of it, maybe they have something important to tell (according to themselves), maybe something really funny happened or maybe they just need to get something off their chest. Either way, they aren’t doing for your benefit; they’re doing it for their own.

We all know the old adage, and like many, I’ve grown sick and tired of having conversations where people just talk to hear their own voice. Couldn’t we rather enjoy the silence for once, huh? On certain days, this gets so bad that I just decide to keep my mouth shut. And people don’t really seem to notice it, because they’re all busy talking about their own things. But then suddenly someone sees me, and feel the need to tell me that I’ve been quiet lately. ‘Well, you know what? It sounds like you people pretty much got this covered. I’ll be over here with my thoughts . . . they ones you just interrupted to tell me that I’m being quiet.’ I’ll admit once again that I’m being bit of a negative Nelly here. People talk to one another (or past one another); it’s how we pass the time. If the conversations are boring, I can either try to contribute or I can leave. Sometimes, I kinda feel like the angsty teenager that wants to get invited to the party just so he can decline the invitation. But there is more to this. I can endure boring small-talk as well as the next person, but when people make the conversation about me when I’m not participating, I get pissy! And you wouldn’t find me nearly as complacent and non-threatening when I’m pissy! (Working on a punchline for a superhero . . . how’s that one?) I’ll try to explain:

Release!

Well guys and gals, it’s finally official! Awakenings (the first book in the Fall of . . . and so forth), is completed, edited, formatted and, most importantly, published! That’s right! It’s finally out in the world!

By clicking here, or the image below, you’ll arrive at my Amazon author page, which lets you buy it in both paperback and as an e-book. (As well as featuring a bio and some images of the very handsome author.) Of course, I urge you all to buy at least three copies each, but more importantly: rate it, review it and recommend it to others! I’m only as good as your opinion here, people, which means I’m at your mercy. I’m not gonna beg any more than that, but believe you me, I’m going to spam this sucker now that it’s finally out in the world!

Thanks once again for following me this far. Now I’ll just have to keep working on the next one, and the next one after that. (I’m about 1/6 into Frostbites, and halfway through Fall, but you’ll hear more on that later. Let’s concentrate on Awakenings for now.)

Whoop, there it is!

Done!

Ready to publish (soon!)

So, basically this means that I’m done reading and revising and editing and revising and reading and editing and revising and you get the picture. Now I’m just waiting for my lovely wife/editor/manager/partner/superhero to skim through it one last time, and I can get this baby published.

Updates will be posted here as it’s (self)published, of course, probably within a month, give or take. (Oh, and if you know me personally, I will harass the everloving crap out of you when the book drops. I’ve heard it’s the Christmas present of 2015! Give it to everyone you know!)

Thanks for all the support!
Sincerely, Bishop

Progress update

Hello all!

Seeing as the ‘great launch’ is fast approaching (unless I’m shot or hit by a car or something), I’ve decided to make a little progress bar for you to look at! I’m sure you all have better things to do than gaze at this page, waiting for the book to drop (although, I don’t see what could possibly be more important), but I’m posting it anyway:

Final revision

June 19th

PROGRESS

June 23rd

Final revision - 77,7% done!

June 27th

July 2nd

.

When that little thingy is full, the final revision of my book will be done! I probably won’t update it after every chapter, but I’ll try to keep that number rising at a steady pace. I’ll admit to having quite a few butterflies right now – this is my first publishing after all. If all goes according to plan, it should be available for purchase come august.

As a reminder: Until that number reaches 100% my book is available for free. One revision poorer, but finished nonetheless. Take a gander below if you don’t want to wait / don’t want to waste your money on me. (Or if you want to give me feedback that’ll make it into the final product.)
