I’m not dead!

Just wanted to let you know I’m still alive and hard at work! Most of you probably won’t care all that much, but as long as no one is downright disappointed, I’ll take it as a win! Most ‘writer’ sites will have you believe that you need to blog at least once a week if you’re going to succeed in this line of work, which makes me about 59 weeks overdue. Oh well.

I don’t mean to sound sour or anything; they might be right for all I know. I’m planning to post more in the future, but for the time being I have my hands pretty god damn full with other things.

This post/update/newsflash/whatever serves three purposes (purposi?): It helps me get my affairs in order before the new year hits; it gives you all an update on what I’ve been doing and where Frostbites is; and it serves as a kind of ‘new beginning’ for myself and this site. (Did I really just write that? Ugh!)

That’s write (harr, harr, harr) folks! Robert is going to try something he’s never tried before: He’s going to work harder and be more structured when it comes to his writing! (He’s also going to stop addressing himself in the third person.) I have like, two or three readers now, as well as a writing gig on the side, so I need to step up my game. As many of you know, something strange and wonderful happened right around my previous blog post, and that is my sole excuse for delaying Frostbites and everything else:

Scary, wonderful, breath taking and time consuming!

Progress update

Hello all!

Seeing as the ‘great launch’ is fast approaching (unless I’m shot or hit by a car or something), I’ve decided to make a little progress bar for you to look at! I’m sure you all have better things to do than gaze at this page, waiting for the book to drop (although, I don’t see what could possibly be more important), but I’m posting it anyway:

Final revision

June 19th

PROGRESS

June 23rd

Final revision - 77,7% done!

June 27th

.

When that little thingy is full, the final revision of my book will be done! I probably won’t update it after every chapter, but I’ll try to keep that number rising at a steady pace. I’ll admit to having quite a few butterflies right now – this is my first publishing after all. If all goes according to plan, it should be available for purchase come august.

As a reminder: Until that number reaches 100% my book is available for free. One revision poorer, but finished nonetheless. Take a gander below if you don’t want to wait / don’t want to waste your money on me. (Or if you want to give me feedback that’ll make it into the final product.)

The Fall of Noman – Awakenings

Please and thank you,
Robert Bishop

Second revision done!

Well, that’s it! The second revision – or rewrite, rather – of the brick ‘Awakenigs’ has become is done! As of right now, it clocks in on 408 A4 pages, containing 237 825 words. Too much? That’s for you to decide, I can’t be bothered to read that thing… (Yes, I’m kidding.)

(Without blurb)

I’m still a few revisions and a professional edit away from being done, but for all intents and purposes, that’s the finished product up there. If I retain my health and sanity, Awakenings will be released this side of 2014.  For the time being, you can get it for free, though. (AND with the added bonus of tearing the author a new one if you don’t like it.) I won’t spam this revision very much, because honestly I’d prefer it if you all buy the finished product instead.

Still, feedback is key to writing something that works, so I’ll listen carefully to every piece of it I get. Your notes, if pertinent, will make it into the final product, and you will get credited. Even as slim as the chances are (I’m a realist), if I do make it big, you’ll regret not getting your name in there!

Click the book (right in the eye!), to read it in the browser, or right click + “save as” to download.

Good reading! – Bishop.
